Reporting a bug
It helps a lot if your email includes:
- Your device (for example, iPhone 17 or iPad Air) and its iOS or iPadOS version.
- The app's version, shown on its App Store page.
- What you were doing when it happened, and what you expected instead.
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you can.
Common questions
Which devices does JotSketch run on?
iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo, folded or open, running iOS or iPadOS 27.2 or later.
How do I name a notebook?
Touch and hold its cover on the desk and choose Write Name, then write the name with your finger or Apple Pencil. Pick ink or gold or silver foil under the pad. Clear starts over.
How do I turn pages?
Swipe in from the left or right edge of the page with one finger. Turning past the last page adds a new one. To jump to any page, tap Paper in the tray and choose Go to Index.
How do I delete a page?
Tap the trash can in the tray; it asks first. To delete several pages, open Go to Index, touch and hold a page, select the others and tap Delete.
Can my hand rest on the screen while I write?
Yes. On a device that works with Apple Pencil, open Settings (the gear on the desk) and set Draw with to Apple Pencil. Then only the Pencil writes, and your palm and fingers never mark the page: one finger scrolls and two fingers zoom.
Do my notebooks sync?
Yes, between your devices signed in to the same iCloud account. They're kept in your own private iCloud database. Signed out of iCloud, they stay on the device.
How do I lock a notebook?
Touch and hold its cover and choose Lock Notebook. A locked notebook shows no name on the desk and opens only with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, every time.
How does search work?
Tap the magnifying glass on the desk. JotSketch reads the handwriting on your pages and on your covers, on your device, and opens the page with the words highlighted. A page you've just written takes a moment to show up.
